An exhibition featuring artworks by students from Nicolle’s Studio of Art
what we call the thing an Artist does.
It is not the medium or the oil or the price or whether it hangs on a wall or who sees it.
What matters, what makes it art, is that the person who made it overcame the resistance,
ignored the voice of doubt and made something worth making. Something risky. Something human.
Art is not in the eye of the beholder.
It is the soul of the Artist."
This exhibition is a celebration of what has been achieved by the creatively inspired and dedicated young artists from Nicolle’s Studio of Art throughout 2017.
The creative process can be varied and always self developing for the artist involved. With each artwork, there is so much an artist experiences. Learning, challenge, growth, grit, determination, joy, frustration, self doubt, risk, bravery, resilience, relief, understanding, satisfaction, self connection, achievement, follow through and doing it anyway. Every student from the studio has worked through these attributes in their art practice, and continue to readily step up again for their next creation.
Art grows and develops people. Art teaches life skills. It is inspiring and reassuring to know these amazing young people and artists, with these qualities, are our future!
