Our Journey Through Asia
The inspiration for this collection of artworks ‘Our Journey Through Asia ‘came from our school wide program ‘Seven Countries in Seven Years.’
This program involves every student from Kindergarten to Year 6 undertaking study related to at least seven different Asian countries throughout their primary schooling. Students are involved in cultural studies as well as basic language programs. From language acquisition to art projects, history and geography, Asian studies are linking harmoniously into our curriculum.
Just as the new syllabus mandates, the general capability of Intercultural Understanding and cross curriculum priority of Asia and Australia’s engagement in Asia, underpins all primary school programs at Greenway Park Public.
Most importantly we are learning that we are part of the Asia region. We are getting to know our neighbours. One thing is certain, as we continue on this journey, teachers and parents can rest assured Greenway Park students will not be left behind but rather, grow to be culturally aware global citizens with opportunities at their fingertips.
