Honouring Yesterday, Creating Tomorrow
Banksia Road Public School in Greenacre celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2009.
To begin their year long festivities, the current staff and students launched the art exhibition, "Honouring Yesterday, Creating Tomorrow", which paid tribute to some of the great artists like Picasso, Matisse and Klee. Students from Kindergarden to Year 6 interpreted the works of famous painters by creating their own versions as a way of learning from the past to construct a new and exciting future.
The exhibition, opened by the Mayor of Bankstown, Tania Mihailuk, continued until March 5, 2009.
