The First Annual Visual Arts Exhibition
This Exhibition focuses upon the works by Year 11 and Year 12 Visual Arts students studying at Punchbowl Boys' High School.
Their art teacher, Clodine Swedha, a visual arts graduate from UWS has named the exhibition " Believe" and suggests that the quote below by Pablo Picasso best sums up her belief in her current student's talent.
“My mother said to me, if you are a soldier, you will became a general. If you are a monk, you will became the Pope, instead, I was a painter, and became Picasso.”
She believes it also sums up her student's attitude toward their own creativity and has encouraged them to "believe" that they can achieve anything through hard work and dedication.
There will also be a selection of artworks by students from Years 7-10 on display in the exhibition.
Mr Jihad Dib (Principal of Punchbowl Boys' High School) will officially open the exhibition on Friday 30th July at 6.00pm in the Margot Hardy Gallery.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening will be Taha Dagastani, the School Captain of Punchbowl Boys' High School, as well as the first screening of a short film by a Year 12 student Taha Allam.
The exhibition continues until Friday 19th August, 2010
